Behind the Campaign: Lure Digital's Commercial Production for Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara
Celebrating over 75 years of community impact through cinematic storytelling, custom production design, and real people.

We're excited to share that our latest commercial campaign for the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara was recently published in The Santa Barbara Independent, celebrating our creative partnership for the Foundation's over 75 years of service.
Created by Lure Digital, a Santa Barbara-based and Los Angeles-helmed video production company, the campaign “Here for You for the Past 75 Years… and for 75 More” brings together the stories of local individuals whose lives have been touched by cancer and the services made possible through the Foundation's support.
Through commercial video production, cinematic interviews, custom set design, and photography, we set out to create something that felt as personal as the people sharing their stories.
A Personal Approach to Commercial Storytelling
Cancer is part of each subject's story, but it doesn't define who they are.
That idea became central to our creative approach. Rather than relying on traditional testimonials, we wanted to build a campaign that celebrated individuality while connecting each experience to the Cancer Foundation's broader mission.
“We wanted to create something that felt deeply personal to each individual while still telling a collective story about the Cancer Foundation's impact,” said Bria Little, Creative Director at Lure Digital. “These are real people with experiences that extend far beyond cancer. Giving each person their own visual world was a way to celebrate who they are while honoring the stories they were willing to share.”
The result was a series of intimate, visually distinct interviews connected by a cohesive creative direction and a shared message of hope, resilience, and community.

Behind the Production: Custom Sets and Real Stories
Sometimes the most meaningful creative solutions come from unexpected challenges.
When our original production plan needed to change at the last minute, our team developed a new approach: individualized studio environments designed around each subject's personality and experience (created by production designer Janelle Smith).
Each set incorporated intentional colors, textures, natural elements, and meaningful details, allowing us to create a unique visual identity for every participant while maintaining consistency across the larger commercial campaign.
The approach also gave us greater control over lighting, composition, and the visual storytelling, helping us create a polished, cinematic experience without losing the authenticity of each interview.
“When we had to completely rethink our original production plan at the last minute, Lure jumped in with a new creative approach that ended up feeling even more personal to us. The interviews were thoughtful, the sets were designed around each individual, and you could tell there was real intention behind every decision. The final campaign feels authentic, hopeful, and very much like the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara." — Lori Willis, Executive Director, Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara
Celebrating 75 Years of Community Impact
For 75 years, the Cancer Foundation of Santa Barbara has helped support access to cancer care and related services throughout the community. This campaign was an opportunity to honor that legacy while looking toward the future.
The final campaign includes a 60-second commercial, digital content, and photography, with placements across broadcast, theatrical, and social media platforms.
“Santa Barbara has been an important part of Lure's story, so collaborating with an organization that's served this community for 75 years is especially meaningful,” said Ky Schultz, Founder of Lure Digital. “We're grateful to Lori Willis and Stephanie Carlyle for trusting us to help tell these stories and celebrate the Foundation's impact.”
We're proud of the collaboration, the creative team who brought it to life, and especially the individuals who generously shared their experiences with us.
