2019 Campaign: Celebrating Local Connections
Our partnership began with the release of our first campaign in 2019. We crafted a series of five:30 spots showcasing how Montecito Bank & Trust supported local businesses through their distinctive journeys. Each spot focused on a key element of the relationship with a lens on Montecito Bank's unique dedication to helping local businesses succeed.
First up, Seaside Packaging's customer story. We shared how Montecito Bank & Trust took a chance on Seaside Packaging during the 2008 financial crisis when no national bank would bank with them, and the support was pivotal during challenging times. Ultimately, they were able to grow their business and succeed, in part due to this local bank.
Solvang Bakery highlighted the trust and community spirit fostered by Montecito Bank & Trust, which has been integral to their success for nearly 40 years. Although the owners weren't anticipating they'd "get emotional about a bank" during their interview — they did know that Montecito Bank was like family.
Village Properties emphasized the bank’s personalized service and deep understanding of community needs. By paying attention to what small businesses need, Montecito Bank is able to help their clients, help their clients.
Bryant & Sons showcased the longstanding partnership with Montecito Bank & Trust that facilitated their international and local business growth.
Finally, the Community Commitment spots become the most impactful, sharing Montecito Bank’s unique commitment to the Central Coast including dollars donated, hours volunteered, and relationships kept.
2022 Campaign: Elevating the Vision
In 2022, we took our collaboration to new heights, innovating Montecito Bank & Trust’s style and storytelling style. With competition in Santa Barbara growing and a need for their content to stand out from copycat competitors, this campaign included product features, scripted customer stories, and a brand video designed to resonate with their audience in a fresh, dynamic way. Importantly, the Brand Video kicked off the campaign on Super Bowl Weekend:
The Brand Video “Imagine What’s Possible” set the tone for the campaign, featuring hidden graphic elements that enriched the viewer experience and encapsulated the bank's mission. No competitor can match the numbers that Montecito Bank can boast, so those"Easter Eggs" were crucial, giving viewers a continued surprise for this two-year-long campaign.
We continued the theme of imagining possibilities with the customer story for Bob's Well Bread illustrating how Montecito Bank & Trust’s support was crucial for this Santa Ynez Valley business’s success. And who doesn't love a beautiful baking sequence?
In addition to the traditional customer stories, we also focused on several product features, including Powerful Digital Banking which highlighted the bank’s advanced digital features, catering to modern customer expectations. Faster paced with a little bit of kick, this spot was made possible due to our previous 2019 commercial success in the community.
Because Montecito Bank & Trust is not just a Santa Barbara bank (with location from Santa Maria to Oxnard, we featured Flooring 101 featuring real bankers and their day-to-day interactions with generational business families.
Our final spot showcased the bank's lending options and the endless possibilities they offer in a playful and upbeat tone. Because When You're Ready For... that next step, Montecito Bank has you covered.
2024 Campaign: Building on Success
For our latest campaign, we had to be flexible to incorporate all the successful elements, but on a faster timeline and leaner budget. We built upon the established graphic style to tell the latest customer stories and highlight updated community commitment pieces that reflect Montecito Bank & Trust’s ongoing impact. We returned to the interview-style customer story to move more quickly through pre-production and show more customer faces on camera throughout the spots. By melding the two campaigns, we built upon the success of our partnership over the last several years. Introducing our 2024 campaign:
